The Ahouli (or Aouli) and Mibladen mines are two former major mining sites in Morocco, located about 25 kilometres northeast of Midelt, at the meeting point of the Middle and High Atlas ranges. Once pillars of the colonial and later national economy, these lead deposits, officially closed in the 1970s and 1980s, are now renowned sites for mineralogy and exploration tourism.
Over the years, many of those who worked in these mines have passed away. Some former workers are still here to share their memories, while their children and grandchildren now carry part of this family heritage. Through photographs, videos and memories passed down from generation to generation, this heritage deserves to be collected and preserved.
This section is dedicated to them.
Share the memories kept in your families: a photograph, a video, a story or a testimony. Every contribution can help pass this history on to future generations.
